THE COALITION

The STOP THE TRAFFIK coalition consists of over 1000 organisations campaigning to end the trafficking of people.  Membership is open to all organisations, including; schools, charities, clubs, faith groups, businesses.  By joining as a member, your role will be to support and contribute towards achieving STOP THE TRAFFIK’s 3 main objectives; Advocacy, Education and Fundraising, linking them wherever possible to your own existing activities.

Without duplicating existing work of other organisations, STOP THE TRAFFIK will promote the projects and resources of coalition members. An important aspect of STOP THE TRAFFIK is not to gather lasting support for itself, but to direct increased and ongoing public support to its members.

topMembership Criteria for Organisations

  • Agree to support and promote the vision, purpose and goals of STOP THE TRAFFIK
  • Agree to use STOP THE TRAFFIK messages, resources and logo
  • Are not a political party or effectively controlled by a political party
  • Committed to an ethical trading policy
  • Do not have their proposed membership objected to by existing members of the coalition
  • Are not involved directly or indirectly in the use of violence

Membership of STOP THE TRAFFIK is free, although donations are gratefully accepted towards running the campaign.

topThe Steering Group

The Steering Group sits at the centre of STOP THE TRAFFIK, with many well-known organisations they provide a public credibility and add expertise from long-term experience in the area of people trafficking. Their responsibilities include:

  • Guarding the overall vision and strategic direction of STOP THE TRAFFIK
  • Actively consulting and co-ordinating STOP THE TRAFFIK
  • Developing appropriate partnerships
  • Determining key messages
  • Communicating the initiative as it develops within the coalition and to wider society
  • Keeping an overview of the calendar of events
  • Identifying, briefing and enabling spokes people
  • Ensuring diversity and inclusion
  • Raising financial support
  • Ensuring transparent and accountable management and administration of STOP THE TRAFFIK
  • Acting as advocates and ambassadors for STOP THE TRAFFIK

Members of the Steering Group include Children on the Edge, Global Angels, Love146, Oasis Trust, Virgin Unite and World Vision.

topCo-ordinating Team

The Co-ordinating Team are the staff of STOP THE TRAFFIK. Their responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the Steering Group to ensure effective delivery
  • Project management of STOP THE TRAFFIK in all its areas of activity
  • Enabling the growth and development of STOP THE TRAFFIK through strong networking and representing STOP THE TRAFFIK where appropriate
